At the time I created this piece, I hadn't been doing very much artwork, because I wasn't too sure how I wanted to create, or why. But one of my sisters began playing the game Child of Light with me; I couldn't stop looking at the colors and designs all around! The game has a watercolor theme and just being in that atmosphere inspired me to see if I could create something beautiful. That moment in time helped me believe I could be an artist again.
As I finished the piece I felt as though I was moving forward and the way she's smiling while she's looking back is a reminder that the past becomes smaller as we move forward and the smaller something is, the less power it has and the sillier it is to our present moment.
